Yvette Alberdingk Thijm is executive director of WITNESS, a global team of human rights activists who help anyone use video and technology to protect and defend human rights.Alberdingk Thijm has spent the last decade defending human rights around the world by supporting activists, journalists and ordinary citizens who speak out against oppression and abusive narratives using video and social media. Alberdingk Thijm previously worked in tech start-ups and in established companies in media, content, and new technologies, including as executive vice president of business affairs for MTV Networks International. Under her leadership, WITNESS plays a growing role in advocating to the tech giants on behalf of the millions of people around the world who use their platforms to share stories of human rights abuse.
