Arvind Krishna is chairman and CEO of IBM. Over his 30-year career at IBM, he has led the building and expansion of new markets in AI, cloud, quantum computing, and blockchain; helped develop products and solutions based on these technologies; and led transformations with proven results. Most recently, he drove the $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat, which provides hybrid cloud software. Krishna was previously senior vice president of cloud and cognitive software, where he pioneered IBM’s hybrid cloud business, and headed IBM Research. Earlier in his IBM career he was general manager of development and manufacturing for the systems and technology group and of information management software. He started in Watson research.
