Elaine Batchlor is CEO of MLK Community Healthcare, a health system in South Los Angeles that includes a state-of-the-art hospital, the MLK Community Medical Group, and community health programs. Batchlor’s innovative work to increase access to quality health care for underserved populations has been recognized nationally. In 2019, she was elected to the National Academy of Medicine and won the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award. In 2023, she was appointed as a Regent of the University of California system. She is a director of the California Hospital Association, Insure the Uninsured Project, the Hospital Quality Institute and the Integrated Healthcare Association.
