Shobhita Soor is chief impact officer at Aspire Food Group, an international social enterprise dedicated to addressing food security through the sustainable farming of edible insects. At Aspire, she is responsible for the company’s activity in Ghana, where they farm palm weevil larva, a desired animal protein that is rich in iron and essential fatty acids. She also oversees efforts to empower peri-urban and rural farmers to secure access to animal protein and to be able to increase their income, and she is responsible for measuring the company’s impact, both environmental and social. Prior to her work at Aspire, Soor worked in developmental psychology.
